The Premier League confirmed (around May 2021) the Key Dates in relation to the announcement of the Premier League 2021/22 Fixtures and the Summer Transfer Window 2021 Schedule.
So, Liverpool Fc (The Reds) and the other Premier League Clubs will be able to prepare accordingly before the 2021-22 campaign commences.
Despite starting the 2020-21 Season as defending English Champions; the Reds lost 6 Premier League home games on the bounce but managed to pull off a dramatic turnaround to finish third in the Premier League 2020-21 Table.
Finishing third in the Premier League 2020-21 Season is an amazing feat for an injury-stricken Reds considering also the fact that at one point the Reds were languishing down in eighth in the Premier League 2020-21 Table (around March 2020).
More importantly; the Club had to navigate through an unprecedented injury crisis in the side throughout a difficult Season that was further exacerbated by the effects of COVID-19 Pandemic!
As such; the Reds will be looking forward to getting back to their Premier League 2019-20 Title winning form next Season.
The Club will be further boosted by the expected return of the defensive Trio (Virgil Van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joël Matip) during the Preseason (after recovering from their respective injuries).
When will the Premier League announce the Premier League 2021-22 Fixtures?
The Premier League revealed that the fixtures for the new Season will be announced on 16 June 2021 at 9 a.m (BST).
It has also been confirmed that the new Top Flight campaign is scheduled to begin on 14 August 2021 and end on 22 May 2022.
When will the Summer Transfer Window 2021 start and end for the Premier League?
In order to be line with other European Leagues, the Premier League has effectively scrapped the Transfer Window Experiment.
Also, unlike other major European Leagues that starts their respective Transfer Window on 01 July 2021; the Premier League Clubs will be able to buy and sell Players from 09 June 2021 until 31 August 2021 (11 p.m BST).
This also gives more flexibility and sufficient time for the Premier League Clubs to officially conclude the transfer deals before the postponed Euro 2020 kicks off (on 11 June 2021).
Furthermore, the Premier Clubs will also have two-and-a-half weeks to make signings after the Premier League campaign commences on 14 August 2021.
However for the 2017-18 and 2018-19 Seasons, the Summer Transfer Window closed on the eve of the new Premier League Season.
The rationale behind this earlier move was the Premier League Clubs argued that shutting the Transfer Window later made the start of the Season more disruptive due to the needless transfer speculations.
But with no other European Leagues followed this earlier system meant that the Overseas Clubs were still able to buy Players from the Premier League Clubs.
Unlike the Reds Premier League 2020-21 ill-fated campaign; the Reds Owners – Fenway Sports Group (FSG) simply cannot afford to be circumspect and hope that things will eventually work out for the Reds.
Moreover before the 2020-21 Season commences; the Reds will need to seriously consider reinforcing the squad and particularly needs to consider bringing another versatile midfielder as Georginio Wijnaldum will be leaving the Club (once his contract expires on 30 June 2021).
Even though Rhys Williams, Ozan Kabak (on loan from FC Schalke 04) and Nathaniel Phillips has done an admirable job during the 2020-21 Season to step in place of the injured Senior Centre Backs; the Reds also needs to consider strengthening the Centre Back position by bringing in a proven reliable young Centre Back (especially with the future of the unused Ben Davies shrouded in mystery).
