Premier League 2020-21 Preview: Leeds United vs Liverpool

After being eliminated in the Champions League 2020-21 Quarter-finals by Real Madrid CF, Liverpool Fc (The Reds) are due to play in the Premier League against the hosts Leeds United.

Date: 19 April 2021 (Monday) ; Time: 8:00 p.m (BST) kick-off ; Venue: Elland Road, Leeds, England.

By leaving Key Players like Thiago Alcântara and Diogo Jota on the bench, Jürgen Klopp may have provided some clues on the possible line-up for the upcoming Premier League away clash with Leeds United (The Whites).

Also other Players like Xherdan Shaqiri, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Rhys Williams, Neco Williams and so on might also be considered for the game.

From recent head-to-head point of view; since February 2002, the Reds has beaten the Whites (apart from the 2-2 draw against the hosts Whites (February 2004).

However, the last game between the two sides resulted in a thrilling 4-3 for the Reds win over the visitors Whites in their opening game of 2020-21 Season.

Reds Team Injuries and Suspensions: Due to an unspecified muscle issue, youngster Curtis Jones missed out for the Aston Villa Fc home fixture as a precaution.

Prior to the Wolverhampton Wanderers Fc away clash; Divock Origi has been out of action as a result of an unspecified muscle injury.

Due to an unspecified injury that seems to be a stomach muscle tear; young Goalkeeper Caoimhín Kelleher has been sidelined for an indeterminate period.

Since undergoing a successful corrective surgery on the adductor injury sustained during the Everton Fc home game, Captain Jordan Henderson has been ruled out possibly even for the rest of the Season.

After sustaining ankle ligament damage during the Tottenham Hotspur Fc away encounter, Joël Matip will be out for the remainder of the campaign.

Defensive Stalwarts Joe Gomez and Virgil Van Dijk are currently working on regaining full fitness after undergoing successful surgeries on their injured knees.

The Club has been reluctant to set any timescale on the return of the Matip, Gomez and Van Dijk as they are unlikely to play this Season.

Verdict: Being a person who prefers utilising the Transfer Market only as his last resort and instead work on improving the squad in the training ground, Klopp has got time until the Reds faces the Whites.

The German Coach has to work on some of the key issues of the Reds that has been haunting them during this Season which is missing clear cut Goal Scoring opportunities.

The Reds has not been consistently good enough in the final third throughout this Season and were especially wasteful in front of Goal!

Between the next Match and until the final Match of the Season, the Reds simply cannot afford anymore slip ups to have any hopes of securing a Champions League spot for the next Season.
