Premier League 2020-21 Preview: Wolverhampton vs Liverpool

Just days after advancing to the Quarter-finals of the Champions League 2020-21; Liverpool Fc (The Reds) are set to play in the Premier League against the visitors Wolverhampton Wanderers Fc.

Date: 15 March 2021 (Monday) ; Time: 8:00 p.m (BST) kick-off ; Venue: Molineux Stadium, Wolverhampton, England.

Ozan Kabak made his timely return for the Reds Champions League Round of 16 Second Leg tie with RB Leipzig in Budapest.

The young Turkish International further boosts the injury-stricken Reds as they have potentially tricky fixtures to navigate after the March International Break 2021.

The Reds are also in the Quarter-finals of the Champions League 2020-21 and are eagerly waiting to know who their next Opponent will be.

Having utilising the Players that faced RB Leipzig, Jürgen Klopp might have given some hint on the possible Starting XI for the Wolverhampton Wanderers Fc (The Wolves) away clash.

Since the upcoming game is the last before the March International Break 2021, so Klopp might not make sweeping changes to the side that faced RB Leipzig in the Champions League Round of 16 Second Leg.

Yet Players like Naby Keïta, veteran James Milner, youngster Curtis Jones and other might come into contention.

In terms of the recent Matches between the two sides; the Reds have won their last 4 games against the Wolves, since getting knocked out of the Third Round of the FA Cup 2018-19 by the hosts Wolves.

Reds Team Injuries and Suspensions: Roberto Firmino was ruled out due to a minor knock that seems to be a knee problem, prior to the Fulham Fc home game. The Reds might not risk playing the Brazilian for the next game.

After undergoing a successful corrective surgery on the adductor injury sustained during the Everton Fc home encounter, Captain Jordan Henderson has been sidelined until April 2021.

Joël Matip will be out of action for the rest of the Season after sustaining ankle ligament damage during the Tottenham Hotspur Fc away fixture.

Since undergoing successful surgeries on their injured knees; Joe Gomez and Virgil Van Dijk are currently working on regaining full fitness.

No timescale has been set on the return of the Defensive Trio as they are unlikely to play this campaign.

Verdict: Fresh from advancing to the Quarter-finals of the Champions League 2020-21, the Reds will feel much confident especially after some of the Key Players like Fabinho and Thiago Alcântara were able to play in their natural positions during the Reds Champions League Round of 16 Second Leg tie with RB Leipzig.

Those brilliant displays from that game are an encouraging sign especially for Klopp, given that the Reds are currently on the back of a woeful 6 Premier League home game losing streak and back-to-back Premier League defeats.

Fingers crossed that Klopp continues to utilise a near full-strength squad and especially enable the Players to play in their usual positions.
