Premier League 2020-21 Preview: Leicester City vs Liverpool

Following their loss to the visitors and League Leaders Manchester City Fc, Liverpool Fc (The Reds) are set to play against the hosts Leicester City Fc in the Premier League.

Date: 13 February 2021 (Saturday) ; Time: 12:30 p.m (BST) kick-off ; Venue: King Power Stadium, Leicester, England.

With the Premier League Title most likely heading back to Manchester City Fc, newcomers Ben Davis and Ozan Kabak might feature for the Reds away clash with Leicester City Fc (The Foxes).

The return of Alisson Becker, Fabinho and Sadio Mané has been massive for the Club but the influential Trio struggled to make an impact in the Manchester City Fc home encounter.

The Reds must quickly shrug off their disappointment of their doomed Premier League Defence Title and focus on their upcoming fixtures.

The next Match will pit once again against the former Reds Manager Brendan Rodgers and the Foxes are one of the main contenders for the Top-four Spots.

In the 2013-14 Season, the Reds under Rodgers almost came close to ending their long wait for a Top Flight Title but the Title eventually was clinched by Manchester City Fc.

After the high flying 2013-14 Season (inspired mainly by the former Reds Player Luis Suárez), the Reds regressed greatly under Rodgers and was eventually replaced for the current incumbent Jürgen Klopp.

Since eliminating the Reds in the Third Round of the Carabao Cup 2017-18, the Foxes drew just once and lost all their games.

Also after becoming the Foxes Manager, Rodgers has lost all the games to the Reds but there is no better time to set things right.

After suffering back-to-back Premier League defeats, the Reds are clearly struggling for form and confidence.

Reds Team Injuries and Suspensions: After sustaining ankle ligament damage during the Tottenham Hotspur Fc away fixture, Joël Matip is ruled out for the rest of the Season.

After undergoing successful surgeries on their injured knees; Joe Gomez and Virgil Van Dijk have stepped up their rehabilitation but they remain sidelined for an indeterminate period.

The Club has not put any timescale on the return of the Defensive Trio but they are unlikely to play this Season.

Diogo Jota has stepped up his rehabilitation and is edging closer to returning back in action after sustaining a knee injury during the FC Midtjylland away Match.

Naby Keïta is also edging closer to his return, after being ruled out due to a muscle related issue.

Verdict: Against the Reds previous opponents Manchester City Fc, Rodgers showed his tactical flexibility in being defensive as the Foxes stunned the hosts Manchester City Fc 2-5 (in September 2020).

Klopp should be aware of this as particularly this Season, the Reds struggled mainly against Defensive Minded Teams that are happy to defend deep and score Goals through counter attacks.

However; with no pressure to defend the Premier League Crown, the Reds can play freely their attacking style of football.

But; their lack of pace and poor finishing in front of Goal might persists.
