The Defensive options for Liverpool Fc (The Reds) have now been further decimated after Joe Gomez suffered a potentially serious knee injury during his training with England National Football Team (The Three Lions).
Gomez has now become part of the growing list of injured Reds Players that left the Cub sweating on the fitnesses of these Players during the November International Break 2020. Yet, not all seems grim as some of the injured ones are due to return back in action after the November International Break 2020.
Following are the Reds Players that are currently sidelined during the November International Break 2020.
Joe Gomez: The young Englishman became the latest victim of the Club’s mounting injury problems after the Three Lions Manager Gareth Southgate confirmed that Gomez will return back to the Club for further treatment.
It is unclear about the severity of the injury but now the Reds are left fearing that Gomez could be facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Trent Alexander-Arnold: After sustaining what seemed to look like a serious leg muscle injury (during the Manchester City Fc Away Fixture), Trent Alexander-Arnold has now joined with the other Players of Liverpool Fc (The Reds) that are currently sidelined due to different injuries sustained.
Jürgen Klopp confirmed that Alexander-Arnold will miss the England Internationals during the November International Break 2020.
The young Englishman will be out of action for about a month.
Fabinho: The Brazilian International was playing well as a Makeshift Centre Back until he pulled his hamstring during the First Half of the FC Midtjylland Away Match and in the process missed all the subsequent matches.
The Good News though is that the versatile Brazilian is due to return back in action after the November International Break 2020.
Virgil van Dijk: After undergoing successful surgery on his injured knee (sustained during the Everton Fc Away Clash), the influential Dutchman is due to miss the majority of the season at the very least.
The Club has been reluctant to put a timeframe on the Dutchman’s return but there might be a likelihood that Van Dijk might not play again this season.
Thiago Alcântara: The Spanish Midfielder sustained his knee injury as a result of the reckless lunge from Richarlison towards the end of Everton Fc Away Match and was forced to miss out since then.
Despite the initial fears that knee injury could be serious, but fortunately for the Reds a scan turned out to be a positive news. Like Fabinho, Thiago is also expected to return back in action after the November International Break 2020.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain: The Englishman sustained his injury as a result of a challenge in the training session held in Austria during the Preseason. This injury is quite similar to the one Jordan Henderson sustained toward the latter part of Last Season.
The positive news is that the Englishman returned to Melwood for Rehabilitation and everyone connected with the Club will be hoping that he won’t be sidelined for too long.
Verdict: Jürgen Klopp now faces an unprecedented situation of having left with one fit Senior Centre Back in Joël Matip.
The Reds Youth Academy Players Rhys Williams and Nat Phillips are the others Klopp has utilized as Center Back. The Duo has played well in the absence of Van Djik.
The injury of Van Dijk itself is a massive hammer blow to the Club and any prolonged absence for Gomez would be beyond unthinkable.
With Gomez sidelined for the foreseeable future, the Reds will need to find solutions internally until January Transfer Window 2021 opens and till then, they are forced to navigate through their injury-hit Campaign.
The Reds will now need to seriously consider buying Dayot Upamecano.
