Premier League 2020-21 Preview: Aston Villa vs Liverpool

Liverpool Fc (The Reds) will need to quickly shrug off their shock exit from the Carabao Cup 2020-21 Competition as the Reds are due to play the Premier League Fixture against the hosts Aston Villa Fc.

Date: 04 October 2020 (Sunday) ; Time: 7:15 p.m (BST) kick-off ; Venue: Villa Park, England.

Despite getting knocked off by Arsenal Fc from the Carabao Cup 2020-21 Competition, the Reds are so far unbeaten in this Premier League Season.

The Reds would become the first team in English Top Flight history to start 3 consecutive Seasons with 4 wins on the trot, if they can succeed in beating the Aston Villa Fc (The Villa).

However, Aston Villa Fc (The Villa) in their home ground are expected to be a difficult side to face and as such, they will be no pushover either. The last time two sides met at Villa Park, goals from Andrew Robertson and Sadio Mané in the final few minutes before full time sealed a memorable comeback win for the Reds (1-2).

That match might perhaps be one of the catalyst for the Reds Title Winning record breaking 2019-20 Season.

In winning their first 2 Premier League matches, the Villa started their Premier League campaign on a positive note. The Villa’s own blip this season was a shock 1-0 home loss to the Championship side Stoke Fc (Carabao Cup 2020-21 Fourth Round).

Reds Team Injuries and Suspensions: Over the next few days, the Reds Medical Team will be closely monitoring the progress of Jordan Henderson’s thigh injury and hope that he will be fit to play ahead of the Villa game.

Thiago Alcântara has been tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently undergoing a period of self isolation. He is due to return after the international break

The injured trio of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Knee), Joël Matip (Muscular) and Konstantinos Tsimikas (Thigh) are expected to be fit ahead of the Merseyside Derby against hosts Everton Fc.

Verdict: With only Premier League Competition and Champions League Competition to focus for the immediate future, Jürgen Klopp will have nothing to complain about the Fixture Congestion (unlike Tottenham Hostpur Fc).

The Reds are were handed even a favourable draw by UEFA. The Reds were drawn in Group D of the Champions League 2020-21 Competition alongside with AFC Ajax, Atalanta B.C. and newcomers FC Midtjylland.

For the moment, the Reds will shift their focus on playing against the Villa.

With a near full strength squad, the Reds are expected to win this match but they will be made to sweat by a plucky Villa side managed by Dean Smith.
