Liverpool Fc (The Reds) has been forced to prudently approach the Transfer Market due to the uncertainties caused by the ongoing Corona Virus Pandemic.
In buying Konstantinos Tsimikas from Olympiacos F.C., the Reds has resolved the lack of Left Back Player as a Backup for Andrew Robertson.
Georginio Wijnaldum‘s contract has entered in the final year and yet, his contract extension still remains unresolved.
Particularly with Emre Can, the Club Management themselves had already gone through similar situations (with Players who were in their final year of the contract).
The Reds prefers such Players to see out their contracts rather than sell the Players on cut-price.
Fenway Sports Group (FSG) prefers to generally buy players that fit a very specific profile: young, hard working, promising, versatile and has resale value.
Still, one player that’s constantly being linked with the Reds during the 2020 Summer Transfer Window and yet does not fit the FSG’s player requirement is Thiago Alcântara.
The Spaniard is very much admired by Jürgen Klopp.
Thiago mainly operates as a creative attacking Midfielder but is capable of playing also as a deep lying Midfielder.
He is proficient at providing razor sharp passes to the attacking third and unlock tight defences.
Thiago is looking forward to a new challenge, after numerous successful years with FC Bayern Munich.
His current contract with FC Bayern Munich has entered in the final year.
So, the Bavarian club are consigned to selling the Spaniard for the right price.
Verdict: Thiago is a proven World Class Midfielder. He brings wealth of experience and has astute tactical awareness.
So, there is no doubt about Thiago’s talent. And this is why, FC Bayern Munich still greatly values him. He will undoubtedly bring in the creative spark in the midfield for whichever team he eventually joins.
For the Reds though, they are are in no rush to buy Thiago until a player especially a Midfielder leaves the Reds or wait for the right moment.
