Reds Column IV

Konstas Tsimikas (Reds Likely 2020 Signing)

Liverpool Fc’s main rivals (Manchester City Fc, Manchester United Fc and Chelsea Fc) have been busy in the Transfer Market looking to strengthen their respective squads ahead of the 2020-21 Season.

So, Liverpool Fc (The Reds) would want to get their transfer activities done quickly. This would then help the new players to have sufficient time to get acquainted with Jürgen Klopp’s system.

Due to the lack of a proper reliable Left Back Backup options and in Robertson’s absence, Klopp had to utilise James Milner as a makeshift Left Back.

Fortunately for the Reds, Robertson did not miss too many games (particularly 2019-20 Season). And the teams performance did not dip much as Milner performed well.

The Reds are expected to play a lot of matches next season (2020-21) within a short space of time.

As such, one of Reds’s top priorities is to buy a young reliable Left Back as a Backup for Andrew Robertson.

Player Profile: Konstas Tsimikas

Full Name: Konstantinos Tsimikas

Tsimikas is the first choice left-back for the Greece National Team and plays mainly as a Left Back. He is a left footer (like Robertson). But is than adept at playing as a Left Midfielder.

Past Player Performance: Konstantinos Tsimikas

Tsimikas helped Olympiacos FC to win the Greek Super League (2019-20 Season)

The young Greek also played against FC Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur Fc in the Champions League Group Stage (2019-20 Season).

Later Olympiacos FC got dropped to the Europa League Knockout Stage (2019-20 Season).

He then played a vital role in helping Olympiacos FC reach the round of 16 by knocking off Arsenal Fc.

Verdict: Dejan Lovren was sold to FC Zenit Saint Petersburg for under £11 Million.

Should the Reds re-invest in buying Tsimikas, he will then be the first Reds likely Summer 2020 Signing as well as be considered a shrewd piece of business.

If that happens, Tsimikas will be much like the Reds acquisition of Andrew Robertson (from Hull City in July 2017).

Tsimikas would not be a direct like-for-like replacement for Andrew Robertson. But he will surely reduce the Scot’s workload.
